We are back! And for the beginning of the new academic year we want to recommend you the conferences of two of our researchers that will take place this week.
The first one is the Annual Conference of the Spanish Society of Criminology that will take place on September 8,9 and 10, 2021, online. Isabel García Domínguez will intervene on the 8th at 09:00 a.m. The title of her panel is “Hate Crimes in Spain. Special reference to aporophobia and homeless people” and of her contribution “Aporophobia: hate crimes against homeless people”. She presents the available statistics on hate crimes against homeless people motivated by aporophobia in Spain. She also convers the recent inclusion of this discriminatory motivation in the Penal Code. For more information click here
The second one is “Social and Scientific Uncertainties in Environmental Law”. It will be held on September 8,9 and 10, 2021 too, online. Miriam Ruíz Arias presents an analysis of the key features of the victims of environmental crimes, considering that one of the topics of this conference is related to who are the victims of these eco-crimes, and the criminal policies targeted at this group from the perspective of aporophobia in Medellín (Colombia). The title of her contribution is “Main characteristics of eco-victims in Medellín (Colombia)”. This will take place on September 9 in Block 3 of the parallel sesion at 11:10 UK time.
